Lotus - powered by Midas

The car that attracted the most attention at Kyalami's opening round of the Bridgestone Production Car championship on Saturday was the new Midas Lotus Exige driven by Richard Pinard.

Unfortunately Pinard didn't get to race the car after the team battled to get the engine management system programmed optimally. "The car was first run during the week and we haven't had time to test it so rather than risk anything we decided ot to race it," said SP Evgineering's Carel Pienaar who prepares the car.

"Although the lap times weren't there, it showed potential in practice on Friday. It's going to be a lively car to race, but being the smallest car both in physical size size and engine capacity is going to make it a challenge," said former Wesbank V8 race winner Richard Pinard.
