The Gauteng Motorsport Company has announced an agreement with Neo Africa for the Johannesburg-based entrepreneurial group of companies to be the official event partner with Gauteng Province of the international Superstars Series for V8 production cars that takes place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on December 12 and 13.

Neo Africa’s philosophy focuses on empowerment and it facilitates the development and recruitment of previously disadvantaged individuals.

“We are delighted to have Neo Africa join forces with us to bring the Superstars Series to South Africa for the first time and provide South African motor racing fans with top-class international motor racing at the country’s premier motor racing circuit,” said Stephen Watson, CEO of Gauteng Motorsport Company.

The 17 cars that will compete in the final round of Superstars at Kyalami arrive at OR Tambo International Airport on Friday from Luxembourg on Friday (November 27).  Included in the field are 10 BMWs (three M3s, five M5s and two 550is), two Audi Rs4s, a Jaguar XF SV8, a Mercedes C63 AMG, a Chevrolet Lumina, a Chrysler 300C SRT-8 and a Maserati Quattroporte.

Two cars, a Ferlito Motors Jaguar and an Audi Sport Italia Audi RS4, have been made available to South African drivers who are able to raise the necessary sponsorship.

The Superstars Series race weekend programme will include a free practice on Saturday from 11h00 to 11h30 and qualifying from 15h00 to 15h30.  There will be two 25-minute plus one lap races on Sunday at 11h30 and 15h00.  Also on the programme are races for Superkarts, Goldwagen Volkswagen Challenge and Forza Ferrari Challenge.
